Hey stampers!  For today’s project I combined the super cute stamp set Peaceful Pines with vellum to create a winter backdrop for my card.  It might not feel much like winter here in NC but with all the Christmas decorations everywhere I decided it was time to embrace the season to create some holiday inspired projects.

My inspiration came from a card I saw on Nicol Spohr Magouirk’s blog and decided to try doing something similar with the supplies I had.  To create the winter scene, I stamped 6 trees from the Peaceful Pines stamp set and cut those out using the coordinating Perfect Pines framelits.  I cut out some snowing hills by first drawing the layout with a pencil and then cutting them out using my paper snips.  I layered the hills with dimensionals and added an embossed vellum layer.

Can you see the background trees behind the piece of vellum?  There are also some snowy hills in the background cut out of whisper white cardstock.  The two presents were stamped in cherry cobbler ink and cut out with the Perfect Pines framelits.  There are so many cute stamps and framelits in this set.
I am thinking about doing a video to show how to make this card.  What do you think?
Also, if you look closely you can get a sneak peek from an upcoming product in the Occasions catalog.  Do you see the sparkle on the hills?  Are you wondering how that got there?  I used a Wink of Stella glitter pen that will be available to you in the Occasions catalog the beginning of January.  It comes in gold and clear glitter color.  I LOVE this pen!!
Thanks for stopping by and happy stamping!
