Happy Monday stampers!  I can’t believe Christmas is just a few days away.  It saddens me that I had to make a sympathy card during this time of year as these are always hard cards to make, but especially knowing someone will be without their loved one this Christmas.  My aunt lost her mother-in-law a couple weeks ago and I wanted to send a card to let them know I was thinking about them.  They were not having a big funeral and did not want flowers sent so the least I could do was send a card.

I started the card with a piece of crumb cake cardstock cut at 4 x 5 1/4 and stamped the leaf image from the stamp set Remarkable You in crumb cake ink randomly.  I then used a uni-ball Signo Gel Pen to draw accents on the stamp leaf images.  The crumb cake piece was layered on a A2 card base made of thick whisper white cardstock.
The sentiment was stamped in versamark and embossed with white embossing powder on a piece of vellum.  This was layered on a piece of blushing bride cardstock and popped up on the front of the card using dimensionals.  The ribbon is retired but I’ve always loved that cotton ribbons we had in the in colors that year.

I hope everyone is getting ready for Santa and have been good this year so you don’t get coal in your stocking.  We are headed to the beach for a few days and lucky us, the weather is going to be warm!

Happy stamping!
