Hi there stampers! For today’s card I am sharing a brand new stamp set I picked up from The Ton called Love and a Dog. When I saw the Pomeranian inspired images, I just had to have this stamp set because it reminded me of my Meeko. Now that I have the stamp set and have played with it a little bit, it has become my favorite!
I had this idea to create an entire background using the different dog images and then watercolor them in the various colors of Pomeranians.
I placed my first dog image where I wanted it to be and then drew pencil lines to give me a guide for where to stamp the remainder of the images. I stamped the dogs alternatively in rows across the piece of watercolor paper with SU Archival Ink in basic black. This is the perfect ink for crisp images and is perfect for watercoloring as it does not react to water.
After stamping all my dogs, the fun really began creating the different colors. I got out my distress ink minis and started applying the color. I wanted gray, brown, and golden colored dogs. I really tried to make the gray colored dogs looked my Pomeranian Meeko but his coat is so unique, it really is hard to recreate. Here he is so you can see what I’m talking about.
After watercoloring all the cuties, I stamped the sentiment in versamark ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder onto some basic black cardstock. This was adhered to the watercolor piece with foam adhesive and the entire finished piece was layered onto a basic black card base.
I can’t wait to make more cards with this super cute stamp set! Thanks for stopping by!
