Happy Hump Day Stampers! For today’s card I did a TON of masking to make this card using The Ton (no pun intended) stamp set called Love and a Dog. I absolutely love this stamp set because it has so many cute Pomeranian dog images. Considering I have the cutest Pomeranian dog on the planet, I just had to have this stamp set. Here is my precious baby:
I created my masks by stamping the first dog image onto some Inkadinkado masking paper three times and then stamped the second dog image one time using SU Basic Black Archival Ink. I then fussy cut all the images out before beginning stamping my project.
I then started stamping the first dog image repeatedly in a line across the bottom of my piece of whisper white cardstock cut at 4 x 5 1/4. I stamped the first dog image, then used one of the masks I created to cover this image before stamping the next one. I repeated this pattern of masking and stamping to create lines of stamped dogs. When I got to the center of the card, I stamped the other dog image that I wanted to color as the highlight. I used that mask to cover that image to continue stamping my pattern.
After completing all the stamping, I then started the coloring. I used my Blender Pen and some ink pads to color the dog. I stamped his hat and tie onto some thick whisper white cardstock with the same black ink and colored those with the Blender Pens as well. I then fussy cut them out and adhered them to the dog with dimensionals.
The rest of the card came together easily. I adhered the masked and stamped piece to a piece of basic black cardstock which was then layered on a card base of thick whisper white. The sentiment is also from the same stamp set and was stamped in Versamark ink and heat embossed in white. I cut the sentiment down and glued to the front of the card.
I plan on doing a video of how I made this card to show my masking technique. I have not had a chance to sit down and record it. I will be away for a few days on a vacation with some friends so I won’t be posting again until next week. I will have this video ready to release next week sometime.
Thanks for stopping by and go give your furry friends a kiss!! 🙂
