Hi there stampers! For today’s card I finally got to play with the new Foxy Friends stamp set from the new annual catalog. I immediately fell in love with this whole suite when I saw it in the catalog but haven’t gotten around to making something with the stamps. I did the whole Critter Mania video series featuring the new fox builder punch but had not yet used the coordinating stamp set. Well I am in love! The stamps in this set are just adorable!
I started with an A2 top folding card base made from thick whisper white cardstock that I layered a piece of mint macaron and retired In Color envelope paper onto the front decreasing the layer by 1/8 inch for each piece. I then used the layering square framelits to cut out the window in the front of the card. I cut out the larger scallop square out of some mint macron and then used the same square that I used for the window to make a frame by cutting out the center of the mint macron piece. I adhered the frame around the window and added the stamped heart though bubble from the Foxy Friends stamp set that I stamped onto some whisper white with watermelon wonder ink. I then stamped the nut from the stamp set Acorny Thank You with island indigo ink onto some whisper white and cut that out using the coordinating acorn punch. I added some wink of stella to give the nut extra bling. I then added a strip of watermelon wonder cardstock across the bottom and adhered the nut with dimensionals.
The inside of the card is where I created my squirrel scene that peeks out of the frame on the front of the card. I adhered a piece of the wood pattern retired DSP called Into the Woods and then added a piece of pool party cardstock on top. I stamped the wood stump in soft suede, the mushrooms in watermelon wonder, and the squirrel in smoky slate. I used the coordinating Fox Builder punch to cut out the squirrel and fussy cut the rest of the images. I then adhered them onto the pool party piece with dimensionals. I added a grassy hill made from some retired In Color DSP to the bottom of the scene that I cut out using the circle framelits to give the DSP a hill shape. I stamped the sentiment from the Acorny Thank You stamp set on the bottom with Archival Basic Black ink and heat set with clear embossing powder.
This card is making it’s way across the Atlantic Ocean to a friend in the UK. She loves squirrels so I thought this little critter would be perfect to send!
