Hi there stampers! I have a fun technique card for you today that has a lot of ink blending and some masking using the new gorgeous So Detailed Thinlits from the 2017 Occasions Catalog. You can get these gorgeous thinlits with the coordinating stamp set (So in Love) in a bundle for 10% off. You are going to want this bundle after seeing this card.
I started with the beautiful intricate floral thinlit and cut out a mask using some Inkadinkado masking paper. I then applied this mask to a piece of watercolor paper and blended on some Distress Inks in candied apple and dried marigold. I used my mini ink blending tools and started by daubing on the ink as opposed to the circular motion I typically do when ink blending. The mask is very delicate so I had to be careful not to tear ink while ink blending.
After applying all the ink, I spattered on some water and picked that up with a paper towel to give me the water marks on the panel. I then added some ink splatters to the background as well and did not remove the mask until I finished adding all my splatters.
I then blended the same distress inks on a scrap of watercolor paper and cut out the sentiment using the Sunshine Wishes thinlits. I then cut out the heart shape from those same thinlits from some gold glitter paper. I adhered both the front of my card. I then adhered the panel onto a top folding A2 card base made from thick whisper white cardstock using craft foam for dimension. I added a strip of calypso coral and gold glitter paper to the side for some added interest.
