Hi there stampers! We just got back from a vacation to Mexico and I am trying to get back into the groove of things. The first place I knew I needed to spend some time was in my stamp room. I have been wanting to try this technique to make a chicken wire background for a card using the Hey Chick stamp set. You can get this stamp set for FREE during Sale-a-bration with a qualifying order of $50US.
I used the new Hexagon Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to create the chicken wire background. I applied an ink pad to one side of the embossing folder (the side with the Sizzix logo) before running it through my Big Shot and you get this fantastic technique. Be sure to lightly apply the ink or you risk getting ink into the wells of the design which will not give you that wire look you are going for. Super cute huh?
I then stamped the chicken image from Hey, Chick and used my blender pen to color in the image. I then cut out the chicken with the Stitched Shapes Framelits and also cut out another larger square with the coordinating color. I stamped the sentiment in Versamark ink and heat set that with white embossing powder.
