Hi there stampers! Well I am still in the process of getting my blog fixed up so I appreciate your patience. I also must apologize for not posting more often these days. I have been making some big decisions in my career lately and have not had much time to spend in my craft room.
So onto the card for today. I created this really fun encouragement card using the This Little Piggy stamp set from the 2017-2018 Annual Catalog from Stampin Up. I used the new embossing paste from the catalog along with Dazzling Diamond glitter to create the most shimmery and beautiful clouds for my card.
I stared with a piece of watercolor paper and applied several layers of Broken China Distress Oxide Ink. I first applied the oxide ink onto a piece of acetate, sprayed this with water, and then smooshed it onto the watercolor paper. This is such a fun technique to use with distress oxides. After applying several layers, I spritzed it with water to create the water droplets and used a paper towel to pick up the extra water. I set this aside to dry and worked on the piggy focal point.
I stamped the pig image onto a scrap piece of watercolor paper using Versamark ink, applied white embossing powder, and then heat set with my heat tool. I then used Worn Lipstick and more Broken China Distress Inks to color in my pig. I then used a Gelly Roll Black Glaze Pen to color in the hooves and eye. I then added some dots on the cheek and bum with a white gel pen. I then fussy cut out the little pig and stamped the sentiment using Versamark ink onto a strip of black cardstock which was heat set using more white embossing powder.
Once the watercolor panel was dry, I used the cloud mask from the Pattern Party Decorative Mask pack and taped this onto the panel. I combined some Embossing Paste with Dazzling Diamond Glitter together and applied this to the panel through the mask which left the most gorgeous shimmery clouds.
I then used the Stitched Shapes and Layering Circles Thinlits to cut out a circle from vellum and Flirty Flamingo cardstock. I adhered the pig and sentiment onto the vellum which was then adhered to the pink circle. I created a top folding A2 card base made from Thick Whisper White and adhered a layer of Flirty Flamingo cardstock. The watercolor panel was added to the card base and the pig focal circle glued onto the card.
