I just love the Petal Palette suite in the 2018 Occasions Catalog and the good news is that this bundle will be carried over to the new annual catalog. The stamp set and coordinating thinlits are gorgeous! I had this idea to stamp the floral image repeatedly on a piece of watercolor paper and watercolor with SU inks. I am very happy how it turned out and can’t wait to give it to my mom!
I started with a piece of watercolor paper and stamped the floral image in Versamark ink repeatedly. I then heat embossed the images with white embossing powder. I made sure to heavily treat the watercolor paper with my embossing buddy before stamping to ensure the embossing powder only sticks to the images I stamp. After heat embossing, I used a variety of Stampin Up inks to color the panel. I used the following ink colors: Sweet Sugarplum, Fresh Fig, Lemon Lime Twist, Emerald Envy, and Smoky Slate. I just squeeze my ink pad so some ink sticks to the lid of the stamp pad and use the lid as a color palette for my watercoloring. After the panel has dried completely, I then added some ink splatters to give the panel an organic look.
I then cut out the letters to form the word “MOM” using the Large Letters Framelits out of whisper white and sweet sugarplum cardstock. I then glued three white die cuts together with the sweet sugarplum die cut on top to give the sentiment some dimension. I then heat embossed the additional sentiment onto a piece of vellum and cut it in to a banner strip.
I then adhered the panel onto a piece of sweet sugarplum cardstock and this was adhered to a top folding A2 card base made from smoky slate cardstock. I then adhered the letters and sentiment onto the front. I used my Stampin’ Blends to color some pearls to embellish the card. I really love the soft colors and think my mom will just love it!!
