Hi there stampers!  Today’s card features some new sneak peek products from the upcoming 2018-2019 Annual Catalog that goes live in less than two weeks!  EEEKK, very exciting!  I used the new stamp set Rooted in Nature along with some new ink colors from the ink refresh collection.

I stared with a piece of Whisper White cardstock and masked off the top and bottom portions of the panel with some low tack tape.  I then ink blended three new ink colors – Gorgeous Grape, Poppy Parade, and Mango Melody.  The new ink refresh has livened up the color families and as sad as I was to see some of my favorite colors go, the new colors have given way to renewed inspiration.  After ink blending the colors together, I splattered on some water and then heat set with my heat tool.

Using my Stamparatus, I stamped the tree image multiple times using Memento Black Ink to get a nice and dark stamped image.  I then stamped the sentiment originally in the same black ink below the ink blending but messed it up horribly.  If you follow my Instagram account, then you probably saw in my IG stories my big boo boo and also my poll to get help on how to fix it.  I polled my followers whether I should cover up my boo boo with a black or white strip of cardstock with the sentiment stamped correctly.  Well as you can see from my final card, the black strip won by a landslide.

I love how this clean and simple card turned out.  This was my first time ink blending SU inks and they actually blended together nicely.  I will have to try this technique out more often.
