Hi there stampers! I shared a card a couple weeks ago on my Instagram account inspired by Kelly Latevola that featured a rainbow watercolor background with die cut butterflies. I used all retiring products for this card including the following ink colors – Pink Piroette, Rose Red, Tangelo Twist, Wild Wasabi, Marina Mist, and Wisteria Wonder. I also used the soon to be retired Bold Butterflies Framelits and Lovely Words Thinlits. My original card I shared is below:
I stared with a piece of watercolor paper and stamped the solid butterfly image from Watercolor Wings using Versamark then heat set with white embossing powder. I then applied clean clear water to the panel and dropped in the rainbow of colors from an ink palette I created with the retiring colors listed above. I watercolored another piece of watercolor paper with the same rainbow of colors to use to die cut out the butterflies. I then adhered the butterflies to the panel and added the “hugs” sentiment that was die cut from basic black using the Lovely Words Thinlits. The whole panel was adhered to a top folding A2 card base made from more basic black cardstock.
I had the leftover piece of watercolor paper that I cut the butterflies out of and decided to turn it into a card as well. It was easy to do with some silver glimmer paper and the Congrats die cut from Sunshine Wishes Thinlits.
If you love these colors as much as I do, time is ticking before they retire. The new annual catalog goes live June 1st which is Friday so you have 4 days left to order these products. Supplies used are below in the supply list with direct links to my online store.
