Hi there stampers! I hope everyone had a lovely weekend and didn’t have to work in the yard like we did. Last week was my third anniversary and we went to the fabulous Garland restaurant in Raleigh for dinner. While there, I found my inspiration for this card in the ladies’ bathroom of all places. 😆 The bathroom walls had these gorgeous red flowers painted on a black background and I just knew I wanted to make a card with that design. Here is a picture of the wall….
To make my card, I used the Beautiful Day stamp set that was carried over to the new 2018-2019 Annual Catalog from the Occasions Catalog. I love the bold images in this stamp set and thought the flower image would be perfect for my card idea. I stamped the flower with Memento Black Ink onto a piece of watercolor paper. I then heat set the ink so it wouldn’t bleed in while watercoloring. I colored the flowers with Poppy Parade and the leaves with Crumb Cake. I then painted the background black with the Memento Black. I kept the rest of the card simple as I wanted the watercolor to be the focus.
