Hi there stampers!  It’s time for another challenge over at TGIF Challenges and the challenge this week is Doodle Art.  After much deliberation, I came up with this idea to incorporate Zentangle doodle art into my design.

I finally got my order with all my new and exciting products from the 2018-2019 Annual Stampin’ Up Catalog.  I had so much in my cart to order, I had to spend several days reviewing it before finally ordering.  And boy oh boy did I order some awesome new products!!  This week’s card features the new Follow Your Dreams Bundle and Subtle Embossing Folder.

Card made for this week's #tgifc164 challenge featuring a #watercolor background embossed with the new #subtleembossingfolder and #zentangleart feathers from the #followyourdreams bundle in the new 2018-2019 #stampinup catalog.

I started with a piece of Shimmery White cardstock and watercolored a background with Highland Heather ink.  I then added some ink splatters with that same purple and also some black splatters with the Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.  I then die cut out a couple feathers using the Chase Your Dreams Thinlits out of Whisper White cardstock.  I used my black Stampin’ Write marker to add the Zentangle design to the feathers.  I spent some time on Pinterest looking at Zentangle examples to get an idea of how I wanted to doodle on these feathers.  For this being my first attempt at Zentangle, I am happy with how these came out.

Using those same thinlits, I cut out the dream catcher from Highland Heather cardstock and vellum.  I also cut out the sentiment and sponged on some purple ink and then heat set some gold embossing powder along the bottom edge. I then used the new Subtle embossing folder to emboss the watercolored background panel and I just LOVE this new embossing folder.  Expect to see it in many cards coming up.  After embossing, I adhered all the die cuts to the front of the panel using dimensionals.  I then went along the edge of the panel with my Versamark pad and heat embossed the edges with gold embossing powder.  This entire panel was then adhered to a top folding A2 card base made from Whisper White.

Have you seen the new catalog yet?  If not, you are missing out on some really awesome new products and I’d love to send you a catalog.  Let me know if you would like one!
