Hi there stampers!  It’s another challenge over at TGIF Challenges and this week it’s an inspiration picture.  I just love the colors in this picture and immediately thought of coastal cabana, flirty flamingo, and daffodil delight.

For my card, I wanted to use the colors as my inspiration and also thought of trying to include some sort of beverage.  I toyed with the idea of making a shaker card using the Coffee Cafe bundle but just couldn’t pull a card together that matched my vision.  I then had the idea of creating a background using various strips of cardstock in varying sizes and the card came together from there.

I started by cutting strips of cardstock in various sizes from Coastal Cabana, Flirty Flamingo, and Daffodil Delight.  I then cut a piece of typing paper to 4.25×5.5 to give me something to adhere my strips to without creating a lot of extra bulk.  I then randomly glued the strips onto the typing paper and trimmed down the edges.  I wanted to give the background some more interest so embossed it using the Maps Embossing folder.

I then die cut four times from basic black cardstock the sentiment using Celebrate You Thinlits. I then traced the outline of the die onto a piece of vellum and cut this out using my Paper Snips.  I glued all the die cuts together and added a layer of Wink of Stella to give some glitter.  I then adhered the black die but onto the vellum shadow I created.  I added a layer of shine to the die cut using my Fine Tip Glue Pen by applying a layer of the glue to the top of the die cut.  I let that dry for a few hours before adhering to my striped panel.

To finish the card, I added some sequins from the Iridescent Sequin Assortment and added some rhinestones to the center of a few of the sequins.  I added some additional rhinestones and then adhered the entire panel to a top folding A2 card base made from Basic Black cardstock.  I love the bright colors in this card and in the inspiration photo.  Play along with us this week and create your own project using the lemonade stand as your inspiration.
