Hi there stampers!  Whew, I can’t believe it’s been a week since I wrote up a blog post and shared a project.  Sorry about that but I have been super busy with a new puppy  😀 (picture at the end of post).  I am sharing the card I made today for TGIF Challenge #167 which features a color theme using Grapefruit Grove, Pineapple Punch, and Lemon Lime Twist SU colors.

For my card I knew I wanted to try creating an ink blended background using the three challenge colors.  I started with a piece of Whisper White cardstock and blended the three colors using blending tools.  I always start off with a light blend of color and build from there by going back and forth between all the colors to get an even blend.  I then splattered some clean, clear water onto the background and picked up the water with a paper towel to give the splatter look.

After I finished the background, I die cut the butterfly out of watercolor paper using the Springtime Impressions Thinlits and applied ink splatters in the same colors to the die cut.  I then die cut the floral shape using the same thinlits out of vellum.  I die cut the dream sentiment from the Chase Your Dreams Framelits out of Whisper White cardstock and sponged on the same colors.  I then applied my Versamark ink pad to the bottom edge of the sentiment die cut and heat embossed with Gold Emboss Powder.  I then created a frame out of Gold Glimmer paper using the Stitched Shapes Framelits and Layering Square Framelits.

I adhered all the die cuts onto the front panel using dimensionals and multipurpose glue.  I added some additional splatters to the background with my Wink of Stella and finished the cards with some Adhesive Backed Sequins.  I love how these three colors look together with splashes of gold.

Now for the picture of my new baby – Macho!
